TLCAD Service Teams
A TLCAD Trainer and a TLCAD dog, having completed approximately 18 months of Assistance Dog training, are matched with an individual with limited abilitie. This creates a team dedicated to meeting the individual’s specific needs. It requires approximately six months of advanced customized training before the dog is placed.

Leash-On-Life: Assistance Dog Program for Children with Autism
This program pairs specially trained Service Dogs and children with autism. Autism Service Dogs are selected specifically for their stability, calmness and steady reaction to loud noises and constant motion. The dog is placed with a family that is already quite stressed, while coping with many forms of therapeutic appointments throughout each day. These dogs provide increased safety for the child and reduce the occurrences of emotional outbursts. Additionally, as a result of the presence of a new, constant companion, a child's focus and attention span is improved. All of these factors, plus many others, help to make each day a little easier for these children and their families.
